Peace is the River Gently Flowing was written as a tribute to Professor Fred "Prof." Schroeder, Lawrence University Director of Bands, 1951-1978. The work was premiered by the Lawrence University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Alumni Band on October 31, 1998, Lawrence Memorial Chapel, Lawrence University.
